I tried Anthony's bag method but could not make it work consistently. I managed to get the insert to stay in the shaft but after I removed the nock a few times to gain access to the light stick, the insert would come out also. :x :x I hope to have Anthony show me his tried and true method at Boofest. Until then, I will be shooting the lumenocs in my hunting quiver.

I'm just in the process of putting together six plastic nocks to match the Luminok weight. I call them my 'a la Normous' nocks. As suggested, I epoxied a 10-24×.5" steel set screw into the plastic nock. I found they are still about one grain lighter than the Luminoks so I've been adding some epoxy on top of the set screw in the back of the nock to match the weight with the Luminoks. I'll be testing these with field points and broadheads against the Luminok arrows. If they impact the same I won't need to practice with the Luminoks, just my weighted nocks. Thanks Norm.

The idea was given to me by Normous. He doesn't say much but I've learned to listen closely to what he does say because that fella knows what he's talking about.
I'm not a computer guy so I can't post pics here but I did send some pics to UPSMan, perhaps he would be so kind as to post them?

Big bucks? ...Luminoks are ten bucks a piece! How much more are the firenocks and how much do they weigh?

In the words of Danny Miller, "why would ya spend ten bucks ta find an eight dollar arra?" I'm sure the Firenocks are great but I fail to see the advantage over Luminoks. I've never had a Luminok fail and I can see where I've hit my game on camera. My playing with weight matching plastic nocks is just that, me tinkering. I've always just checked my marks with my Luminoks and broadheads before hunting. If there is an advantage of the Firenocks I'm happy to listen as I may have missed something. :D

...the BH alone costs anywhere between $10 and $15...plus the arra, insert, nock, etc...that's why I do it!!!! Plus there is some element of pride in finding it and putting it back in the quiver!

Okay, so these are the same ones you're shooting Anthony. They're ten grains heavier than Luminoks and you can remove the battery. My question is, how are they superior to the Luminoks? Easier to extinguish and no need for plier pullers. Are they brighter, tougher, longer battery life???

....I never said they were superior...just a lot easier to extinguish and CAN BE installed without glue also...I have not done a test of superiority as to brightness...I have had a Lumenok fail when I installed it...I screwed up the wire...but that was probably me...but it is another thing to worry about...listen, i have used both the Lumenok and the Ignitor and would have no problem using either one again...I just prefer the Ignitors...I really know nothing about the Firenocks except their expensive and their site is confusing...

Cheap only $35.00 dollars for 3 with a lifetime warranty!!!! the battery and containments very in cost but once you have them they are $9.00 every other year for 3 batteries that last 2 years and have a 14 day run time, or 7 year shelf life, I install them for hunting season, and remove them off season, after 2 years doing this, I still have power left.

That's why they are worth it to me,,,,,never lost an arrow in three years. Well except one that I shot a doe with that was standing in front of a river, coulda dove for it in 8 to 10' feet of muddy water,,, Trust me I won't make that mistake again, that $25.00 arrow with a $12.00 computer, and $3.00 battery was salty!!

2 different times hunting out of my short standers, an 8' and a 5' fence row stand I built, with arrows in matted down weeds in a CPR field and 4" to 6" under the snow,,,,no problem, after dark see em from 50 yards away, and a couple out in corn stubble that I had to go back after dark and look for the glow,,,, they are bright, and I don't use their brightest battery, but their longest lasting! This is what I saw after dark, in 6" snow and buried under heavy weeds,,,,
Image

Have never had one fail to light or stay lit,

batteries last 2 seasons

no other lighted nock has as much run hours..

no switches or fumbling to turn off

No way for them to light without firing them from the bow, and I had two other brands that would come on in the quiver if you bumped them into brush or hard objects.

I use them because I need them, without them I know in the last 3 years at least 3 times, and probably 5 times, but 3 for sure, I would have lost my highly Matched weight, spine Indexed, and spine matched, Zombies, with $15.00 broadheads attached, that make the total cost $25.00 plus a piece,,,,,, are still killing deer! So mine are payed for, so this year I am buying a set of 3 green,,,,, I like variety, and since my red ones saved me $75.00 by never failing to stay lit till I came back hours later and walked right to my arrow,,,,, 100% success is my goal with everything, and once I have 100%,,,,,, I usually stick with it and consider it proven,,,,,,after 3 years,,,,,,,,
