The new Hawke line looks promising for sure!

The reticle is too busy for my liking.. Lol

But better than the XB30 Pro.

Only problem I really see with the new Hawke is sighting in at 40 yards with the main crosshair. Whatever magnification you get is what you are stuck with except at 40 yards. You might get a blurry picture at 10-20 yards or even less. I do like the windage marks though.

It is a busy reticle for a hunting bow. However it looks pretty nice for target shooting, especially with the wind drift on there.

You are right. I can't count the number of times I've taken a shot within five seconds of seeing a deer because that was the only shot I would get. I prefer to range them first, but they don't always cooperate and slowly feed down the expected trail through the primary shooting lane.

It’s a wonder I’ve ever killed a deer then...range, dial and shoot is a perfectly usable strategy and it takes the guess work out of the equation. I usually range trees and landmarks before the animal gets there but not always. If I don’t know the yardage definitely I don’t shoot so I’ve had to range the animal, dial and shoot numerous times. I use a turret dial on my VXR and an HHA on another bow and I have no plans to change anytime soon unless the scope that Norm has been perstering Leupold for gets made, (buddy I’ve called and sent Emails for a Crossbones VXR for years so keep at it).

To my buddies at the ATA, have a great time and send lots of pictures!

As for the Hawke scope, I don’t like the reticle, they’re usually heavier than they need to be, the glass is always subpar and that reticle

I got a chance to cock and shoot the new 460 scorpyd. It's a BEAST. I could only cock it with the short rope and then it was just...... the long rope ended up over my head
Man that bow is smooth. Trigger is amazing. I think that's what you need Derrick.

I have found that range, dial and shoot works best on feeding deer and on food plots where you get plenty of time to do so. Most of my shots are taken at traveling animals that only give a few seconds at best to range and shoot. So I use a multi-reticle scope and range tress, rocks, etc. in advance. One of my bows now has a rangefinder mounted to it that scans so I can see the range as I am aiming, it works pretty good.
