One thing I forgot to ask. Is it safe to use acetone to clean the vanes before super gluing?

Absolutely. Once the glue starts to set, it does from the outside in. The hardened outer part of the glue acts as a mild barrier. I say mild because if you sank the fletched part of the arrow in a bath of acetone, the glue would eventually soften. So a wipe with an acetone dampened rag or Q Tip is ok.

When I got home I started to search lift kits and monster tires for my 2015 Ram. Hanging out with you guys can get expensive... :)

When I drove home after work tonight, that brand new lifted Ram I have been teasing you about today was taken down from the display. I smiled and thought to myself, "Bet Jeff bought it!"

Thanks, Don for imparting some of your arrow making techniques with us. I got home around 11:30pm on Sunday and immediately started fletching my next 1/2 dozen arrows. I learned a ton.

I used to use acetone to clean my vanes prior to gluing. I use Zing now...made by flex fletch. Anyway, a good general rule I've found when using acetone is to smell the vanes or shaft or inserts after prepping with acetone and prior to gluing. If you still smell acetone it's not completely evaporated. Give it more time. No smell, you're good to go.
