While I am thinking and sketching the shape of a knife for a give away I decided to make a couple more of these small game knives: Image

If anyone is interested in purchasing one contact me now (dagrizknivesatgmaildotcom) and we can discuss the handle scale wood and price. The price will be pretty reasonable even though these smaller knives are the hardest to make

Yup, this is so true. Check out my give away and you will see a member that joined the day the thread was made and wants to be in the draw. I would think it prudent to have a few posts requirement on it. Its only fair to the members who contribute daily and care about the site.

Here is an idea, perhaps a 50% off gift certificate to the winner towards a custom knife built by you seems fair.

Not trying to be cocky, but wouldn't that defeat his original post.

I think this is a good idea also.

I'd go for a thin blade knife to breast out a bird or a trout.

knife giveaway.
Got a few issues though.
First one , What kind of knife should I make to give away that somebody would like, while not breaking the bank to make it?
Dont break the bank by doing a raffle ...Say 5.00 - 10.00 a chance
Second one, How do I set this up so it would be fun and interesting?
A Raffle
Last one, How can I do it fairly for those who are always here, providing worthwhile contribution to the forum, without creating a shiete storm???????
Dont take a chance at 5.00 - 10.00 and your out no matter how much feedback you have

Good on you for doing something like this. It is nice to see a forum where people genuinely care about the people they message with.

I would be very curious to see your whole line up. Do you have a website where one could peruse your various models?

For a suggestion, how about making it a maximum age limit and post range...say anyone under the age of 25 with between 50-200 posts (I am 36 and nowhere near 50 post, therefore would be out of the running). No offense to the great long timers on here, but this might encourage some new blood to stick around.

I have a suggestion. I will change my giveaway a bi.
Everyone who gives some $$ to the Awshucks fund gets their name entered into a drawing for a free knife, a Bird and Fish knife. The winner would get to choose what wood they want for handle scales. I will finish the knife, include a handmade leather sheath.

I won't do this unless the majority feels it is something they like.

Let us know on the Awshuck Donation thread, so we can decide if it's a go,

Not only creative but constructive too.

Gallant idea!! I'm in.

BTW, a fillet knife would be my choice. It's just a matter of time before I buy one from you.
