I think now, it's not so much hating crossbows, as much as it is they hate anything that's just not like them.

Have been gone for the weekend and must comment before this thread plays out. I think Wayne is right. When I was going to 3D tournaments and was into Vbow shooting, I heard some guy going on about how anyone who didn't make there own longbow and arrows was cheating and that compounds and carbon arrows should be against the law. Xbows are finally legal to hunt with in my state and I wasn't really into hanging out at bow shops and going to the shoots that much so "frankly, I don't give a d--n." When I'm at home all showered up and eating dinner and drinking a cold beer, with a cooler full of fresh meat, they will have just gotten back to the woods with new flashlight batteries to continue the search.

This phenomenon is not limited v vs x bows. I've heard people making commentary conserning the make and/or caliber of hunting rifles. I hunted with a man years ago that hated .270 rifles, really anything other than .308, and swore that I would loose half the deer I shot with mine. Glad to say this has not been the case.

Unfortunately, many people are insecure to the point that they feel compelled to reject anything that is unlike them. But,
