Sent an email your way Don.
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

Re: Arrows testers needed
Barry, if you want in on the testing and can do what I need you to do send an email to the address in my first post.chinook wrote:I know I am a noob here and to crossbows, but I am a very capable shot. I also do a lot of rifle shooting and recently retired form the Army. You can check my "feedback" on ar15.com and theakforum.net. I would love to help out and broaden my crossbow experience at the same time. Please let me know If I can be of any service.
Thanks
Barry

Hi JT , I haven't had any issues with them , I tighten the livin crap out of them though , the Accuspines are the hardest , toughest arrows I've ever seen...JT of PA wrote:randyxx75 wrote: and the development of the lock and load inserts were a great improvement !! they rock !!
Randy - I have been using six of the lock-n-load inserts, (for about a month) and so far very pleased with them. Using them with Firebolt shafts and Gold Tip Laser Pro 2 & 3 series. Have you had any problems with them loosening up? Thanks, John

Randy, Thank you for the response and feedback. I was concerned with splitting the arrow shaft with the tightening I put on my Lock-N-Load inserts. A phone call to Clean-Shot and they assured me hand tightening with a 5/64" hex wrench by hand cannot be too extreme "within reason".
For what its worth ... E-mailed Randy at Black Eagle Archery (BEA) and asked the difference between the Executioner shaft on BEA's website and the Accuspine shaft on CamX's website.
Randy's answered the Accuspine's are spine aligned and the Executioner's are not.
$50.00 - Six, 20" CamX Accuspine bare shafts, +/-0.001
$26.42 - Six, 20" BEA Executioner bare shafts, +/-0.001
Above prices are before shipping/handling and tax if applicable, (as of 11-18-2012).
Since I have a few Gold Tip 2 & 3 Pro Series in +/-0.001 that are not spine aligned, I will have the Executioner bare shafts in +/-0.001 on my Christmas wish list. If I get some, it will lead to some fun head-to-head testing.

Re: Arrows testers needed
There is a bit of a correction in regards to Black Eagle Arrows. I've cut and pasted part of an email from them
We were once with Harvest Time before they sold out to Muddy and upon the sell out we chose to go a seperate route, find a new supplier, establish a new company and unveil the best of the best in carbon shafts.

I come from the "If it seems too good to be true" school... For the price of these bolts, it really makes me wonder what's wrong with them. lol.
If they do turn out to be the real deal, I hope the huge influx of business doesn't encourage them to raise costs. $$$
I'm sure I'll be buying a few dozen.

Re: Arrows testers needed
With you on this one Woodspike. When I learned about this arrow company I was not sure what to think. I spoke to the gentleman from Southshore Archery Supply and he said good things. They say on the Black Eagle Arrow website one of their missions is to keep cost down. Hopefully, I will get some for Christmas and can do some comparison shooting to my Firebolts and GT Pro 2 & 3. It will be interesting to find out what Boo and his test shooters learn from their actual/varied testing. But, if they are the real deal - "Honey, I know what I want for my Anniversary and Birthday presents".Woodspike wrote:I come from the "If it seems too good to be true" school... Re: Arrows testers needed
Accuracy ? How are you measuring that? Are all the testers shooting the same poundage? Not nessasary. What helical or offset is being put on them? What weight of tip is being used? And again what bolt is being used? Find it a joke if you can't answer that , It's not hard it is on their web page.
Re: Arrows testers needed
if I get picked to test any I plan on putting blazers on with the Arizona bolt and shooting them in different bows for groups from 30- 80 yds .from a bench and sandbags and my sitting arm resting on knee position. also with 100gr,125,gr,150gr tips and measure the group size and compare to my super slams and eclipse that are 2114,2117 with blazers and brass inserts done on the Arizona and squared and everything weighed and spin tested with 100gr,125,150gr tips. I don,t care what shafts they are if the spines good and they are strait and square and the weights close they should shoot good with there brass inserts and blazers in one or more of my bows.shooting and checking poi and acurracy is the only way I can tell if arrows are any good and get my best shooting arrows! I will also be shooting in the wind to check for wind drift. and also I would not try to pick the man apart for his kindness of trying to let people try some different arrows and see how they comepare at his expense!!!!! and mabey find something good that we would all benefit from!!!!!!
