I just bought a 405 and have great results at 30 yds. Variation noticed pass 40 yds. I blamed me since it all new to me.

My request is simple, Excalibur please reply to the concern about a factory recall.
Your outstanding name as a bow supplier needs to be up held by an official response to these rumors.

If a quality issue is real, ok let's deal with it. I have no regrets about buying this bow. If you need to replace the trigger so be it. Let's move off center, by replying to your customers and potential customers.

Not looking to blame anyone but your opinion that the "consumer" is to blame is ridiculous!!
Obviously I wasn't very clear, and therefore you missed my point. Let me try again. With the demand for "the need for speed", the manufacturers are trying get the jump on one another. Since the consumer is waiting with bated breath. I can see how even with all the testing, product might be introduced a tad too soon.

Just because a product stood the test of time doesn't mean it will continue to do so.

So who's to blame, the consumer for asking, or the manufacture for trying to comply. The way I see it both. I've said it before and I'll say it once more, speed comes with a price tag. For every action there is a reaction, for every Pro there's a Con.

That's just the nature of how things are in this world.

Scary indeed, and to think ..... I caused all this.....you can blame me for being without your 405 for a couple of weeks.

In all seriousness, being without your crossbow for a while is a small price to pay in order to assure your safety. :!: :!: :!:

the recall says something about differences in hardness. the new trigger parts are chrome i thought. are they going back to the steel trigger components or is it a mix up where some parts were installed that were chrome treated and some not. if its just something you can look at and tell id rather not ship it at all if its just gotta be opened and checked.

Some 405's may have been purchase with cash? Don't know if any information is exchanged? New owners may not view this forum, word of mouth may be the only way to hear about the recall. If someone knows of a 405 owner do them a favor and inform them of recall.

This recall shows how important it is to register your crossbow when you buy it from Excalibur. Every registered owner of a 405 should be getting a letter concerning this recall.

I feel for you 405 owners. But the factory will fix you up quick.

Re: trigger techs. They may be newer but they have 5x the sear engagement surface compared to the Excalibur trigger. I think that adds a degree of safety.

Manufacturers do not issue recalls based on one faulty unit out of hundreds or perhaps thousands of units sold. So either:
A. They have had enough complaints to believe this was not an isolated incident, or
B. Based on what they found with Comfy's trigger unit, they have reason to believe there may be more than one unit affected

A recall is probably the last thing a manufacturer wants to do, it's bad publicity. But kudos to Excalibur for jumping on the issue fast. It's good to know they value the customer's safety enough to do that rather than trying to bury a problem like so many other manufactures do these days.

It might be the latest, but not always the greatest. New doesn't always mean improved

Actually I got the 405 because the 380 was out of stock and if I had waited HST would have kicked in.
