I have toyed with the idea of a rope but I like the Tee idea.. I can see why Excal doesn't use one though. the enclosed design they have now is simple and safe.
the Tee could be a legal nightmare.

Anyway, I played around some more with the rope stirrup and I think I'll stick with it. It's perfect, really. Cocking is much easier now that I can keep my spine and bow centered and it also weighs next to nothing. I don't think any T-bar design can compete with that.
Now the challenge is to find fitting rope, the pink/blue stuff that I have works but it's really not exactly easy on the eyes  Can't do that to my Nightmare
have you got a pic of the rope stirrup?

I like the idea of the "T" if the weight can be kept down. I have trouble getting my foot in the stirrup with my big boots on.

You can buy the 5/16" Spectra at West Marine or any Marine store, by the foot. Thinking about it, the Vecrtan would be better for this, as Spectra is slippery while Vectran isn't. Almost the same in strength and weight though.

This stuff ain't cheap, but a couple feet won't break the bank.

I'd be plenty happy with one of the newer larger Excalibur foot stirrups on my vixen . I can't get my hunting boot in it ,I gota swap it with my Exocet's stirrup when i want to use it . I need to save some cash and call Danny to see if he has one .

Has been a good read. And a little tempting on that fold away stirrup, but I think i'll just stay with my paracord wrapped. But still interesting .......
