Figured out who the stranger was.

Just an update on the collection process............. Late last week my PayPal balance was starting to get up there pretty good, so I transfered quite a bit out of the PayPal into my bank account so I could withdraw it. It mainly only happens if you're selling stuff on Ebay, but if there's a dispute about an item, PayPal can freeze your account and you can't move any funds anywhere. The money from PayPal hit my bank account Tuesday I think. I was going to go by there and withdraw the cash and get a Postal money order Tuesday but didn't have time to. As luck would have it, 'Shucks sent me a message yesterday saying that Postal money orders were a pain in the butt for him around there in the big "buzzing metropolis" he lives in and that checks were a whole lot easier. OK, easy enough!

I put a check in the mail this morning to Dan (Awshucks) for what I had transfered out of the PayPal account. There's still a few money orders and PayPal transfers trickling in every here and there, so I figure in about a month everything should be over and done with and worked its way through the system. I'll send Dan the balance of everything we've collected, and post up the total of everything you generous folks have donated to help out a fellow brother in need.

Thanks again for all of the support in this! :D

OK folks, looks like everything is said and done on this pretty much.

The wife, boy, and I took off on vacation a couple of weeks ago. Since we wouldn't be around there, I didn't want to "publicize" that we would be gone, that was one of the reasons for delaying wrapping things up. Plus, I really did want to make sure if there was something in the mail headed to me that it did have time to get down here. Before leaving, I put a hold on the mail at the Post Office.

We got back the Sunday before Memorial Day. Went through all of the mail and there wasn't anything in there and no more PayPal transfers had come through. This past week, I played catch-up at work and at the house and transfered the remaining balance out of my PayPal account into my bank account. I put a check in the mail this morning to Dan for the final balance for everything that was collected. I sent Darrell a list this morning of all of the people who pitched into the bucket to help out, excluding a couple of people who requested to be excluded from the knife drawing (that I could remember).

I was going to wait until Dan got the check, but I'll go ahead and spill the beans. Total, there was $1,052 donated to help Dan out with the medical bills. I sent one check about a month or so ago for $600, and then this one was for $452.

A big THANK YOU for all of the folks who helped out and pitched some in!!! :D Others contacted me saying that they wished that they could help out, but they had different things going on in their lives and they weren't able to at this time. Perfectly understandable. You've got to take care of yourself and your family first!

I've got the list of who gave what that I received. I'll leave it up to you folks. Do ya'll want me to post a listing of the user names of those who piched in or not? I'm not going to post how much each person gave, because (no offense to anyone) that kind of info really isn't everyone's business. Some gave more than others, but that isn't important. What is important is that they did pitch some in. We wouldn't have been able to get up to what we did without everyone's help! :D

Also, I had said that I would give the list of people and donation amounts to one other person of your choosing. Who do ya'll want it to be?

Thanks again for everyone's help in this! :D Maybe Dan can spend some of the money on a new seat for his bike. One that doesn't cause him to get an erection and lose blood to his brain and black out!
