Everyone in here should proud of what they have done, be it 10ft or 1/4 mile, everyone accomplished what they set out to do, and had fun doing it :)

longest shot with the x bow(phoenix) is 35 yards on a deer
longest shot with rifle is 40 yards on a deer
and longest shot with the shot gun is 65 yards on a turkey ....i thought it was less than that but measured it out and was surprised ....wouldn't have taken the shot if i had know it was that far
longest shot with the 270 was 175 yards on a target

I've never made a shot much over 80 yards on a deer when gun hunting even though I've used guns that I'd practiced out to 200 yards with and felt capable of killing a deer at that range if necessary. We are limited to muzzleloaders & shotguns for deer gun season and I've had a few muzzleloaders capable of 3-4" groups at 200 yards. The last one I set up so I could easily make a 175 yard shot (a good trail entered a field exactly 175 yards from my blind) I ended up shooting the deer that walked out at 60 yards opening morning.

Where I hunt it's easy to plan a setup where the deer will be close, and there's no sense taking a long shot when I can get close. All my archery kills have been under 25 yards (I believe 22 was the farthest) and most under 15 yards.

Longest with bow: 42 yards. Buck dropped on the spot. Bear Super Kodiac Magnum, 42 lb pull. Cedar arrow tipped with Bear Razorhead.

Longest with rifle: 225 yards. Tracked buck about 250 yards. British 303.

One of the nicest shots ever was when I shot a running squirrel at 28 yards with a recurve (same as above) using Bear Razorheads. Didn't have to track the squirrel though and I won a $5.00 bet on the spot.
Keep smiling!
