Hopefully you're correct in stating that the dealer is talking through his wasoo. In any case, I doubt that Excalibur will be all too happy to have such "dealers" selling their merchandise.

IMO, for years , back when the limbs were being "over-cooked" during the "Off Site" camo application process, this problem became appearant in the 3 high stress models ( 380@ 260#, Micro 335 @ 270# and 405 @ 280# ) , prior to the 2016 model year releases... .. Very few Matrix bows at 355 fps. and at or below 240# had a history of problems. At the least they were "Very Rare", being a limb tip issue or splinters appearing which were usually sanded off and continued in use by the owner.

Knowing that even the over cooked limbs would function at or below 355 fps. or 240#.

Then it seems to me, it became a no-brainer... They simply cut the no longer needed 405 rails down to slightly below the standard 355 length, ( to allow utilizing the rear mounting hole as the new front one and simply drilling a new rear one, which appears to have been done ? )

Then by simply relieving a bit of stress from edge of the limb pocket with a very slight taper to reduce stress at the sharp edge of the swept forward risers used on the 405's, even a bit more reliability was added.

Then " Turn Them All Loose " as new "Limited Edition 350's " at a reduced price, due to the fact that they were a way of getting rid of all the old cooked limbs by reducing the draw weights to stress limits they could work within reliabily, while mating them to the ' New and Waaay cool" " camo 405 rails with matching camo "slightly modified" 405 risers.

Up-side is I'm guessing ? There is a very slight increase in swept forward limb pocket angle used on those 405 risers give a bit more speed than is realized by the less swept forward angle on production 355 risers. ( for the over-all rail length of a modified rail is very slightly shorter than a standard 355 rail, and it would take a riser mod to give it the edge it has speed wise. )

But I do know that I used one of those camo "modified 405 risers" when building my present 380... It is right a 5 fps slower than past generation 380's produced as compared too speeds given by others at given arrow weights....

However, I'm predicting the reliability of new current production limb set when paired with a new modified riser, will make it totally reliable.

I'm waaaay good with the trade off. It's getting 350.7 fps at 397 grns, 342.8 @ 421 grns and 365.3 @ 359 grains... :D  While being OHHH SOOOOO accurate.

This has just been the ramblings of an old man , but perhaps room for thought?

Gene :D

Aluminium rail. I got a 350 LE for my son as an early graduation gift. My hunting buddy ordered one within a hour of seeing/shooting my sons.
