GaryL,

Thanks for posting for me. It was killing me thinking I was going to have to wait another year to redeem myself from missing shots on my prior hunt. My daughter did not join me on this hunt as she got her gator in September. As such, the pictures are not as good! This gator measured 9ft 3in with part of his tail missing. He would have been close to ten if he was all there. The real story is how large around he was. He made my prior 9 footer look very small. Thank God for second chances.

Hey Beardog,

What kind of set up do you have on your Excal? I have been looking for the right rig...and obviously your's is working!!!

I'm planning on next year's hunt since this year's is over. Let me know so that I can get the hook up!

Thanks
You can take the boy South...

I mounted a Muzzy slotted Bowfishing reel to my quiver holder. I have about 60 feet of 600lb. line attached to a bouy on the end. The fiberglass bolt is 20 inches long with a muzzy "Gator getter" Harpoon type tip. One improvement for next year will be an open sight instead of a scope.

Most shots are 30ft or closer, although I took one last year from about 50. The scope can be tough to use on quick shots. I believe Muzzy sells a kit on their web sight.

Hope this helps and good luck next year.
