Not having to uncock my E-mag!

Post by Mighty Mooser »

I was out Sunday Afternoon for my first hunt after opener on Saturday, and nobody could hunt with me, as I usually uncock my crossbow by having a partner pull the Trigger and I hold on with both hands. I walk out of the bush and into my fathers back yard on his lawn, and 2 fawns run by me, so I whistle to make them stop. My dad had watched a big doe with 2 fawns all summer clean his garden, so my reaction was where is the doe (culprit). It turns out I spooked them and the fawns ran right, and the doe ran left and now I was standing between them. 28 yard shot, and that arrow went right thru the liver a little high. She ran about 150 yards through a manured corn field, and I had the hardest time finding any blood. The chest cavity was full of blood when I found her. mmm Garden fed deer will taste mighty fine, and I didn't need to uncock my bow, I guess it is a 2 for 1 deal....

They have the forms at the bar, and make sure to get in for the early bird draw of a Tree stand by the 25th...

The power of the mag... The carbon arrow was 7 yards past the deer, and buried 2/3 in the ground, and all in one piece.. could it be resharpened with emery cloth and reused? I am cleaning it off with hunter soap amd water....
Thanks for all the congrats. Last year 3 deer with shotgun 1 shot each, and I start the year this way, and am bound and determined to beat my brothers record of 5 a few years ago, however my wife does not want anymore meat, but what she does not know won't hurt her.... LOL I think I am going to get picky the rest of the season.....
