Newb Crossbow?

Hello, Im wondering, does a crossbow need a firearms liscence, and doesnt it need training? Is there a website on Canadian Crossbow regulations?


-What is a good begginer crossbow? 250fps+ and around 250ish$? most bang for the buck @250ish$ canadian?

No crossbow licence needed , no Pal and your own training.
An Excalibur Pheonix is by far the best buy for your buck and a great start for hunting.

I would get a excalibur...My wife shoots a yukon sl and its ok but side by side compared to my excalibur its slow and hard to pull the trigger..Its been a good xbow but if your gonna spend that kinda money get a excalibur..

as far as does the xbow need training..well mine does..It keeps humpin my leg.. :lol: :shock: It may be that doe stinky i spilled.. :wink:

Only firearms that propel a projectile over 500fps require a PAL or a licence. As far as training, you need to become familiar with the equipment you are using. In other words practice. It's the only way to know where you are shooting and at what distances you are comfortable with.

Beginner or experienced it doesn't matter. Go with a top quality, hardhitting, accurate xbow. Buy a good bow in the beginning and you won't be disappointed.

Why dont Excalibur Xbows have Pulleys? Pulleys arent necessarily better?

Excaliburs xbows keep it simple with recurve limbs ...the Excal xbows are very fast, accurate and efficient....less moving parts mean less problems...

I mean that if the bow was reasonably priced, and he lived nearby it would of been better.
