Just got my disposable camera developed...got some new pic's of my 8 pointer. Shot him and two little 6 pointers...but lost one little six b/c he ran 50 yards further than I thought he would/could. That sucked. Found him a week later, but the maggots were taking care of him. A good year, none-the-less.

9 pointer late Oct, 10 pointer during Dec shotgun along with a mercy killing of a nice 10 (half) with 1 large point on opposite side. The buck had a severe front shoulder injury, no arrow or bullet, was hit by a car earlier this spring i beleive. These deer are sure tough shits, every year I gain more respect for there will to survive.

Looks like everyone did good this year. Congrats :D :D
Well this is a run down of my 2005 hunting season. First of all, February was a blast, I called in my first coyote and took him down with my 270 win. what a rush, called him in and he busted me when I swung the rifle around to get a shot at about 20yrds, he took off but I barked at him and he came back and I dropped him at about 50 yrds.

Then May rolls around and its Turkey time, spent about 3 weeks tryin to get close to a bunch of Toms and one morning it all comes together. I called him down a fenceline with a couple of hens in tow, I dropped him at 20 yards.
Image

Summer rolls around and its time for some Hoggin with the rifles to keep us in tune, for the rifle hunt in November.

If that dont work try searching Hunting Footage for my user name Ranger66.

I tried some goose hunting in September and with alot of patience and calling finally got my goose. With me its pretty much anything that flies is safe, but nevertheless I connected.

Now the fun begins, Deer Hunting. THe beginning of October was amazing, I probably seen 30 deer in 2 weeks and had about half of them in shootng range, but offering no shot or got busted. Then I head out to my food plot and sit in my stand for a morning hunt, I had four deer within 15-20 yrds of my stand but 3 of them were a little on the small side and the older doe was behind a small pine that was out in the plot, I thought she had me pegged in the stand cause she was eyeballing me, but she calmed down and stepped out from behind the pine and my Excalibur unleashed the power and I stuck her a little too far back, cause she was on a slow walk and I only had about 2ft of shooting lane before she would have got behind another tree. Upon recovering her about 30-40 yrds and began inspecting the shot placemnet, it looks like I took out the liver. Anyway #1 deer down.

November gun hunt rolls in and then gang is all here, 13 hunters. The wife and decide to go to the area I shot a buck at in 2004 and get there only to find out the trail to the field wher eI hunted was flooded by about 1 1/2ft of water so we quickly get outta there and head down to where the other hunters are hunt and I radio one of the members and tell him what had happened and took keep a watch out for us as we head back to the other stand sites. I head down to my stand site and pass mom on my way and tell her what happened and continued past her. I got about 50 from her and noticed and deer in the field behind where I was going and quickly leaned on the fencepost and cracked one off at it, what the heck I missed and it's still standing there, cycled another round and let'r rip the deer goes outta site so I carry on to check out if I had hit it and when I get alittle closer theres a deer standing there, WTHeck I missed again, line it up again and "BANG" it does the classic mulekick and piles up in the field after goin about 40yrds. Upon Inspecting where I had first taken the shots there was another deer down, Holy Crap I got 2.

We ended the week with 10 tags filled and we all had a blast.

Now its December and time to break out the Knight Muzzy, and my buddy takes a 7pt buck opening morning, and then we got nothing the rest of the week til Friday afternoon hunt. Both of us were sitting in a Box blind about 10 or so ft off the ground and we were kinda chuckling, saying this was like the hunting videos and at 5 o'clock a lone doe steps out and was lookin kinda spooky cause of the wind, and I thought she was goin to leave the field so I guessed the range about 90 yards and lined her up touched off a round, she mule kicked and headed for the bush, about 40yrds later she is down. Sorry No pics. :'(

Back to Bowhunting again in December and I head out to the foodplot again to give'r a try. Upon arriving I notice lots of tracks in the snow and one main trial leading in/out of the plot over a small ridge to the south of the plot. I follow the trail to the other side and find where the trail splits and decide this is where I am gonna set up and find a small patch of alders to the east of the trail about 10yrds and setup there. I had my winter camo on and was confident with the wind in my face. All of a sudden a grouse flushed and scared the heck outta me and I watched it fly away, thinking to myself hmmmm what scared that, then I could see something from the corner of my eye on the trail, I slowly turned and seen a nice doe sniffing my tracks and then she looks up the trail and then looks in my direction and then looks away again. Right on she don't even know I am there, and I wait for her to turn her head so I can bring the Crossbow up, but wait, I can hear something else coming down the trail but can't see it, the big doe turns her head away and I bring up the crossbow, the deer that was behind her blows and the doe makes 2 little jumps and is now 1/4 away and a little further out. maybe 3-5 yrds further, and line her up behind the ribs and cracked one off, she does the mulekick, and I know I got her good, and after a short wait I go where she was stand and Imediately see a blood trail. I leave and come back later with some help and she is recovered within 40-50yrds, the bolt entered behind the last rib and exited out her throat. Sorry, no pic of this one either :'(

Well thats how my hunting season went, I hope it wasn't too long winded but thats how it went.

That's a good chronological sequence of your 2005 Hunt, ranger66. I think I'll do that next year.

Forgot to add my 2005 Tom. RJ and I chased this fella around for a few days without any luck. A couple buddies of mine from Sault Ste Marie and North Bay came down for a hunt and we bagged him;

The boys and I had a great year :D :D I managed to harvest three Bucks 10 point and fork horn with exocet and a eight point with the rifle.
Oldest son shot three, 11 point with the exocet and a doe and seven point with the rifle.
Middle son shot two, eight point with the exocet and a fawn with the rifle.
Youngest son shot a fork horn with the exocet.

Between the rifle gang and the xbow gang I was in on the harvesting of 24 deer. 16 Bucks,3 doe and 5 fawns.
