Anyone else hunt rifle tags in the west with a crossbow?

I was just wondering if there are others out there that don't get a special season to use their crossbow (like here in Colorado) and use it anyway during a regular rifle season. We have some special long season private land tags in my area so I've been trying the crossbow (with 0 luck) this year to try to get a cow elk. I'm thinking about using the crossbow next year for a regular (read short) rifle season. I noticed that there are few crossbow hunters in the west where archery seasons don't typically allow the crossbow but there must be other crazy guys like me who want a bigger challeng out west here.

Excalibur is my first weapon of choice when bear hunting over bait. Guns and gun oil in particular stink. Makes a hole the same as a 12 slug if you stick it behind the shoulder for a quick dispersal.
