For me hunting is just like Mossy Oak, it's not a passion, it's an Obsession

You did not list Paradox,Wolverine or Relayer Excaliburs, I shoot Paradox and Wolverine as well as a Vixen. I like all my Excals, its like picking which of your children you like best.

You can always tell when a new excalibur crossbow shooter comes to the forum and makes a poll like this. They forget all about the older models.

I shoot the relayer.

To be fair, I think any new member is probably trying to decide which model is best suited to the average hunter. I presently own and use the Phoenix, but I am not 100% convinced it is really that much of an improvement over the Vixen for the average hunting situation. If only one model was to be available, I would probably vote for a Deluxe Vixen to be the model. I think most of us are using our Excalibur to primarily hunt whitetail deer, and the Vixen works fine. I wouldn't be hesitant to use a Vixen on even moose or elk, but I would be very selective of the shot!
I'm probably in the minority, though.

I completely agree with you Wabi. I also shoot a Phoenix, but my father has a Vixen, and I love the Vixen. I also love my Phoenix too. Any Excalibur crossbow is great. I thinik they should bring back the Vixen Deluxe. Keep the Brown Vixen though for the price concious people who don't want the camo stock or pads or other things.

Other than the Relayer, I've owned every recurve crossbow that Excalibur has made. Having sold all but two, I currently own and use my 175# Exocet for 3D and my 200# Exomag for hunting.

However, my personal choice and favorite for fit, comfort, accuracy and all round versatility was the older 165# Exocet sporting a 15" rail.
Too bad I sold it. :(

Even though I'm not in the market for another crossbow, if Excalibur reintroduced the 15" rail I'd sure be tempted.
