Got the Phoenix!

Post by Broadhead »

Excal Team,
Got the Phoenix Sat evening. Sighted it in Sunday afternoon.
(Only took 10-12 shots) Could not waite to get it in the woods.
That evening as i was making my way to the ground blind, The
hogs were all ready there feeding on the corn. I stalked into
shooting range. About 25 yds. There were 3 sows, 1 big one
(No doubt had babies somewhere) and 2 other smaller sows.
I was ready to shoot one of the smaller pigs and a Boar and
another sow walked out. The last sow was a very healthy 130lbs
or better. Sighted her in, and let it fly! Hit her right behind the
front leg. She wirled around, took off through some ferns and
Palm scrub, came flying back out into the shooting lane, did
like a back flip landing on the side with the bolt sticking out
and was done!
When i was cleaning her, discovered the bolt had broke the
one shoulder, hit the heart and dislocated the far shoulder.
Needless to say. Im one Happy Camper with my Phoenix!
Thanks to everyone with their input.
John
Oh, i was useing the Ecal Bolts and 100 grain Muzzys.
I have pictures, not sure how to attatch them to this post?

First of all, congrats on your choice of bow and the memorable hunt you had.

About posting pictures on here you first need to host them on another site. That is, first post them onto a site like http://www.photobucket.com. After this has be done, it is fairly simple to put on here. When you go to post a reply or make a new post, at the top center of the page you will see a "Img" tab just click it. Then past the address of the picture behind it then click the tab a second time. IF you use photobucket, you just need to paste the address from the IMG line below the picture.

I hope this helps and if you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Congrats broadhead, some of my most favorite hunting with a Xbow, is Wild Boar Hunting. That's the size I go after.
