Paradox

Does anyone know why the Paradox was dropped from the Excalibur line -up? It was a very accurate machine wasn't it?

Hey Boo,

Yes, the Paradox was a very accurate crossbow, and still is a very accurate crossbow.

As for why they were dropped for the Excalibur line-up, I can't help you there.

Not sure exactly why but Bear and Excalibur collaberated and Jennings built them, in 2004 they phased the Paradox, then the Maxpoint out probably to make room for Bears F300 series xbows that used a lot of Paradox and Maxpoint parts.

Digger is correct, the Paradox/Maxpoint was a joint effort between Excalibur and Bear. When Bear Archery was acquired by different owners, they decided in their wisdom not to continue the relationship. As such, once the existing supply Paradox/Maxpoint bows was exhausted they had to build their own versions. Hence the appearance of the Bear F300. Just remember, newer isn't always better.

What happened with the member that wanted to trade his Paradox for a Phoenix?

Did that deal fall through?

Oh, I don't know. I'm hoping not. He just hasn't said what's going on yet. I really want that Paradox.

Hi,

Actually, it was a Paradox in Canada and a Maxpoint in the U.S.. The reason we stopped producing the Paradox is the limb system was manufactured by Bear Archery and they were suffering financial difficulties. We could not afford to add a large amout of tooling to our plant for one model so we stuck with our recurve limb system crossbows. The recurve crossbows gave us far less problems and happier customers so we stuck with what we know. We still believe recurve limb crossbows is a better way to go. Thanks for the pm.

My Paradox is my first and only crossbow.I posted,a while back, a shot I took at a toonie(canadian two dollar coin) at 30 yards,no problem.A week later I put a Vari-zone scope on it ,now I can hit that toonie at 20 yards 75% of the time.I can't do that will any of my rifles.
