I believe new Excals come with Excel strings now, but most dealers will install the FFF string for you. You loose a few fps with excel string.

Michael Stogre wrote:What kind of string were you using when the phoenix clocked in at
310 ft. per second? According to the excalibur catalogue the 305
advertized figure is attainable with a fast flight string. Also how much
would the speed decrease if your broadhead was 125 grains?
I'm interested because I use a phoenix with an excellerant string and
have wondered if my dial in vari-zone scope setting is correct for what I shoot:
20" lazer II bolts with a 125 grain broadhead. Any help you can give
me would be much appreciated and probably help answer questions
for others as well.

The standard string that used to come with them when they first came out with the Phoenix.
