Got there an hour early w/ friend Bob, shooting a compound. Met sponser, showed him my two Excals, left him the Emax, rope cocker, arrows, basic instructions in case some one wanted to try a xbow while we were on the course. He took a couple of shots, was both totally impressed and all set. This was a VERY informal shoot, you shot 5 targets at first position, then went thru 15 more, 1 shot@. After the first round, you did it all again, except at the "other" stake. Since we had a lot of drive time, we shot both stakes the first round. This was at a trad club, btw. When we got back, about 1 1/2 hrs later, this poor guy had a line of men, women, and kids, about 15 deep, wanting to shoot the Max. My buddy and I gave him a break, and w/ two xbows things went faster. You should have seen the smiles!!! The usual questions, where can I get one, How much? ect. ect. And there was not even one negative or anti xbow comment made!! This was my 1st experience not only for 3-D, but holding Xbow 101 classes. It's hard to describe how the first timers turn around after hitting the target w/ eyes like horse turds and their mouths gaping open, but it was a real treat!! There score system was 350 for perfect, 175 each round. I shot a 167 at the far stake, and a 171 at the next closest. I was real happy with that. Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted ya'll to know that sometimes it goes like it should, and to keep the faith.
