Question about my Excalibur flemish string...

Post by daveL »

I just put a new string on and the ends of the string (where it is tied under itself when they twisted the string - where the ends of the string is just sticking out) is fraid and looks like a string silencer after only about 20 shots. Is this normal?

Thanks. I was starting to worry a little. Another question - is the flemish string the best or is there a string that doesn't stretch and need frequent adjusting? Thanks.

The Excel string is an endless loop type and will stretch less. It's my understanding Excal has switched string material for the Excel string, though, and it will be a little slower. The up-side is that it should also be a little quieter and have a little less shock and recoil, plus it will be less damaging to the limbs in the event of a dreaded dry-fire!

the excel is the one you dont have to adjust as much... the flemish one is the quicker one by 6-10fps roughly though
