big buck pics(on wall): diesel take a look lol

Post by crazyfarmer »

seasons getting close, so I figured I'd post 4 of the ones I have mounted. I have about 8 on boards anywhere from 8-10pts and 18-21inches but these 4 meant the most to me since they are my first shotgun, blackpowder, and bow bucks. Some arent bigger than my board mounts but being the first decent buck with each I mounted them.

anyway here are the pics

btw, just finished my upstairs so the wife let me put them on the wall there.. she said I owe her big time for doing that lol.

all 4

left is my first muzzleloader buck(18inch 8pt). I saw this deer day after day but couldnt get a shot. Finally last day of muzzleloader he walked 8yards from me. The right one was my first archery buck with a compund bow. Missed him the first day of bow season, but didnt miss him the 2nd at 9yards. He was 9pts and 18inches. I have pictures of him with velvet grazing the hay field behind my house.

One on the left was my first shotgun buck when I was 12 years old. Dropped him at 10yards lol. 10pts with 2 kickers and 20inch spread. The one on the right was just mounted this year. Biggest all around to date at 23.5inchs wide and 9pts. Only 7 scorable though since one bow is broke and the back G2 is short. I scored him at 124 5/8ths with 10deductions so he shoulda been a 135-140 class deer damnit. He was a muzzleloader buck which I hunted mostly all of blackpowder season.

anyway, hopefully this gets people motivated to hunt with season coming up;) HEHHEHHEH

Second buck from the left, was that meant to be a pedestal mount instead of a shoulder mount? Never seen a shoulder mount form like that!

yes you are right.. I just wanted something different and it definitly sets it apart from the rest.

If I get another, ill more than likely get a pedestal and put that deer on it and hand the other on the wall in its place :D

I'll probably be getting my turkey back from taxidermist soon hopefully ( no pressure peter the tail is looking great) and have no idea of where i'll be putting it. lacking some free space , when i built the cabinet for my xbow i was also told that there was no room to put it, but eh it's up on the wall

thats one thing I have yet to mount.. im not as blessed with turkey's as deer lol. Deer hunting is supposed to be harder but for me its the exact opposite.
BTW, what do you have for your X bow? I need something to store mine in and the soft case looks kinda cheesy

Farmer: Oh yeah;) I dunno about you but march/april is candy time in the fields for finding sheds;) If I miss one, well.. I end up finding it in the damn tractor tire and 200bucks later

Those are some GREAT looking deer. I thought you said the horn were small down there. I would have loved to shoot any of them.
$ 200.00 for a tractor. That tire is worth more than the International it's mounted on.  Sorry I guess you like those red ones.

here's another pic, the hardest thing was to carve the "excalibur" and then i burn the wood with one of those wood burning tools, have no idea what it's called. was going to paint it blue, but the ended up burning it, i'm glad it looks ok. The cabinet is 1-1/2" pieces 24"x24" roughly plus the top piece.
Made it all in red oak and stained, a visit to a local hardware store and you'll find some type of hook to hang the bow. the middle section has six holes and the bottom pieces six small holes here the points sit, you can even make it for 12 bolts, was going to make it for 12 but only had six at the time
