Shooting from a Treestand Question
When shooting from a treestand (understand the best method is to practice it!!) but want to ask, does the arrow tend to hit higher, meaning for a 10 and a 20 yard shot for example how many inches might one have to aim lower for each?? I am an experienced gun hunter but the xbow is new to me!! I am however quite addicted already!!! Any tips are appreciated. Also if you pace off from various trees around your stand to the tree your stand is in is the distance the same when you are actually up in the tree.. meaning if it is 20 yards from a certain tree to the tree my stand is in when I am actually in the tree do I still use the 20 yard crosshair (Varizone) and if so do I need to aim a bit low??? Thanks and sorry for the wordy topic!!
hi i recently went out and shot out of my stands and when i did it the arrows hit low not high.. cause the distance is actually further that what u step out on the ground... when i shot at 10 yards i used the twenty yard mark and it shot right on, 20 yards i used the 30 yard mark and so on... that just what i found when i did it ... the best bet is to go and stand on your roof if u have too and shoot just to see how u find just so u know... i know i was shocked at the difference when i did it thats forsure...

When a Bow hunter sight in a bow most shoot from the ground. When you take the same bow to a tree at the same distance the bow is going to hit higher. Depending on the arrow and broadhead weight the heigth will be different but will be in between 2-4 inches.
Once your bow is sighted for a stand , there should not be any difference or very little from 0 - 20 yards. I can not talk about the Excal scopes as I have not shot with them, But I did see the difference with a excal bow on the range from ground to stand height.
All ways sight your bow in for what you plan on doing the most hunting stand or ground.
