Idiot dumping trash.

Post by ecoaster »

Chris and I were leaving our hunting spot yesterday morning when a guy pulled into the parking lot and began to just putter around and make small talk with us. This is conservation land open to hunting, which is hard to come by around here.

We could see that the guy had a full load of cedar branches and other yard waste. He proceeded to start dumping the stuff right on the lawn of the parking lot. He couldn't even bother to drag it off into the woods. :x

I went over and talked to him, telling him that this was the last remaining parking lot for this parcel of land and that the others had been closed because of garbage dumping. He played the "I thought branches would be okay, card". I told him that the Conservation Officers had told us that they didn't care what was dumped. If it continued, they would close down the last remaining parking lot, ultimately screwing everyone who uses the land.

He told me he was sorry and wouldn't dump the stuff. I even told him how much the landfill would charge him for the load. FIVE BUCKS! Chris drove by later that day and saw that he had dumped the remaineder of his load.

I just got off the phone with the Conservation Officer for the area and he is phoning in the guys plate to the cops! He can't plead ignorance with two eye witnesses that warned him. They may just get him to clean it up or they may charge him.

The whole kicker was that some mushroom pickers showed up as he was doiing this and he got nervous with all the eyes around, so he pulls out a shotgun and shells and says he's heading in to do some grouse hunting. It was such a crock of $%!T. Just a cover for his garbage mission. So, basically these other folks looked upon the hunter before them as a litter bug. I'm sure that's good for our image.

What an idot!

If you got his plates, he may just get what's coming to him.

That sucks about him pretending to be hunting. :? It's guys like this that give the rest of us a bad image to the general public.

I was out fishing one day with 2 friends and we came across a truck load of garbage that was dumped next to the lake we were fishing. Bill started going through the garbage bags and guess what he found envelopes and magazines with the guys name and address on it, so we loaded the truck up and later on that night we dumped it all on his front lawn including the washing machine.

The conservation officer is going to phone him and tell him to clean it up, or face the charges.

Guess what? They have ran his plates before  . The C.O. would not elaboate, but he said "We know this guy!". Kicker is, he lives closer to the landfill (10 minute drive) then he does to the hunting spot (25 minute drive). A real winner.

Kind of an oddball character he was. Wish I knew where he lived. I would put the stuff in my car and drive it back to his house and leave it in his driveway.

Well I got some pics of the mess he left behind. we have his plate #. Hopefully he'll get fined.

Even though it is "just" garden waste it is still waste. Plus you never know what kind of exotic species of plant or animal may be introduced to the area. Not even thinking. What a dumba$$!

I recently found out that one of the places I have camped/hunted/fished for 30 years has now been posted "no camping/hunting". That's a real pisser off. And it is the same reason, idiots who have no respect for the outdoors and damage it. Leave their garbage behind. SLOBS!!! This place is very near and dear to my heart, in fact I was planning a moose/deer/bear hunt there next year with Ecoaster and another buddy. Now I don't know what to do.

Almost hate Timmy's for this reason, eh?

Hats off to you guys for this kind of attitude....BRAVO...I pick up trash myself and If I have to go if you know what i mean I bury it....

Down on wildlife managment land some jerks brought a hotwater tank (huge) to shoot at, then left it with all thier casings......what a bunch of wieniers ....I hate those that dont keep it clean and nice for others to enjoy..who wants to go out to the woods and see trash...man what a bunch of losers..

Heck Ecoaster I bet it cost him more in gas than 5 to make the round trip insted of going to the dump....They should order him to live at the dump for a week to see if he likes livin in trash...

Sure it did because the dump is a heck of a lot closer to where he lives. The dump will often take shrubbery for free, it can shredded and used for landscaping. We also have special garbage containers for yardwaste that the city will pick-up.
