Things seem early this year ... I've seen some breeding scrapes as well .

I'll be focusing some attention in the bush October 29th to Nov 3rd ... I'm guessing their will be some action then ( just a hunch ! )

This weekend a lot of new scrapes and rubs popped up so they are getting ready.

ruts and scrapes

A.W. lots of sign where I have been hunting. one very large scrape. Saw three bucks last week. Convinced one of them to accompany me home. Although the big guy is this there! Will try for a toonie this week.

The water was so high last week that I had to move my rocking chair twice. Just kidding.

November's full moon is early this year - the rut should be early, too.

  I've seen quite a few deer actually. Found some rubs on Saturday while moose hunting, and saw a few deer there also.

What is the difference between a boundry scrape and a breeding scrape? How do you tell them apart?

I've been seeing some scrapes and i've seen one rub on a small tree. I live close to stratford ontario, I was pretty excited when i noticed a whole line of scrapes right in the area that i hunt. i've seen a really good 6pt. around i think i'll get a shot at it. How often do the bucks visit there scrapes?

Sierra. I've looked at your pic a few times and have now just noticed that there are two bucks. Nice critters.
