old style quiver mount.

Post by bait pile willie »

in my my opinion the best way to carry your arrows was invented long ago,and I bet most of you have already have one.its called a back pack.. I carry my arrows in the quiver that came in the right stuff pkg. in my pack along with all my other gear.I dont like anything mounted on my crossbow other than the sling and scope,I like to keep it simple, light, and balanced.

That's the way I carry mine also but It's because I don't like the setup that came with my Exocet. I plan on buying the new setup that groundpounder came up with. It looks like the way to go for sure.

Funny that you bring that up, That was the vary reason I gave up on the compound bow after trying two of them. It was all the crap you had to have to make it work. I was on a hunt two hundred miles from home for elk. The fellow I was hunting with had forgotten his release and could not hunt without it. Here I was shooting a bare bow and thinking how glad I had come home to mama. Well as they used to say, different strokes.

I'm not a fan of the stock quiver setup myself, I have a Vista hip quiver and belt that detatches when I get in my blind I also have a Dan Miller mount.

I don't like anything on my xbow either, other than the scope . . .the lighter the better. I have not decided what to use yet. I like the idea of the pack or the hip . . .thanks for the ideas . . .anymore?

I also carry my quiver in my back pack. It stays out of the way. Carrying it on the bow is asking for snags and noise. I actually had mine on the bow this morning when I went for a short walk. Had to back track half the walk to find a bolt that came out of the quiver. Not fun!

I found a old velcro strap that was used on a arm sling(broke a collar bone a couple yrs ago). I took the quiver from the right stuff package and strapped it around my waist with the velcro strap. Seems to work good. I have not tested it in the woods yet . . .next week.

I like groundpounder's invention. My hunting is all done from a tree stand, where i can rest the xbow on the rail. Weight is not a problem.

Thanks Digger

Hey how does it mount to the xbow? My Exomag has two tapped holes on either side of the deck in the head casting. Does the mount attach one side or the other? I just can't picture it.

The bottom piece of your F/O front sight is used to install the mount. the piece is at the bottom of the pic I posted , you can see the two holes that line up to your riser
