Still Trying ( enough freakin Rain-2)

Post by Big John »

Well out today in the pouring rain again!
9:00 am till 4:00 pm. Man did the rain come down good!

Never stopped, even when I left. I don't care anymore about the rain, since that's all weve had since opener. I will spend every minute I can out there trying for one of the Big Guy's on my property. They will come, and I will be there, even if I am looking like a "drowned Rat" lately. :)
Keep on trying everyone, one day the rain will stop for a few weekends, and Hunting will be incredible.

yes, tracking can be a pain in the rain. The deer still move in rain though, and a chance can be missed by not going.

Worst for me is I depend on my ears also when hunting from the ground and the wet leaves make it like walking on carpet for the deer  they can be right there without you knowing

Most fella's I know won't bother going out in the rain. That's an opportunity missed.

Yep the rain was a pain today ... but I stayed out all day and had a blast !

Working on downloading the pictures now ... will add them to my other thread ...

I actually prefer hunting with a light rain or just after a rain. I've lost so much hearing(heavy machinery) that I don't ever hear them before I see them anymore. I feel it kind of levels the playing field a little more with them not being able to hear me crunching around either. You also tend to have most of the woods to yourself in less favorable weather conditions. Keep at it, it will pay off eventually.
Why ride when you can walk!

What comes after 2 days of rain?.......................Monday.

The alarm went off in my trailer Saturday morning at 5.00am.... The rain pounding on the roof of my trailer.

At 5.10am my alarm clock went off. It's not often I wake before the clock goes off.

The rain continued pounding the roof so I rolled over and went back to sleep for half an hour then got up and had breakfast.

At 7.45am the rain had backed off to just regular rain and I went out for a hunt. I didn't see anything but it was still nice being out.

I seriously thinking of buying one of these for hunting. I have to check see if I can get it in camo.

I'm getting sick of the rain too. This morning I got up and it was raining again and I decided no way I've had enough off drying my glasses and seeing nothing.

Guess what the forcast is for tommorrow? :(

Stick with it Bigugly, the time will come!
The only thing that kept my eyes dry last time was the brim of my camo hat. Funny how water can find a way to get into every little crack or opening on your person, even when you think it cant!
Sure puts a chill on the bones!
