nice picture, have'nt seen a fox in awhile. Looks like you have a new pet and a better mouser than a cat :lol:

Plenty of Yotes starting to pop up around me though.

Cyclone,

This fox obviously knew you were there, but didn't bolt, which I would think would be typical of a fox. Do you live way out in the boonies? The fox looks healthy, did it seem to act abnormal? Just thinking about the possibility of rabies.

Chris,
I had the same thoughts when we first started seeing him in late summer. He does not act abnormal from what I can tell. Just seems very calm and collected and in tune with his surroundings. We are fairly secluded here also. Only way I know to confirm rabies would be to smoke him and I have not seen anything in his actions to warrant that yet. But thanks for the heads up Chris.

It's not uncommon to have foxes along the Denali Hwy to run up to people looking for a handout. They seem to get vary comfortable around people that keep there movements slow and easy.
