Honey, go git the gun, dinner just showed up in the driveway

Post by GaryL »

Got this in a e-mail today. Can;t say how old it is but I like's it

Dinner Time in Eagle River, Wisconsin
These people living in Northern Wisconsin put some corn out in the dead of winter to sustain the area
deer.
When I said the deer up here were as thick as cats and dogs, I wasn't far off.

We would need EllSinken friar's automated crossbow for this.

I was thinking the same way. Looking at a deer is nice: a lot of deer a lot nicer. The problem is, though, this kind of unnatural concentration is unhealthy. One sick animal can infect the whole bunch.

That's why some jurisdictions forbid feeding.

Well maybe on the too may deer in one spot, however from here south that picture can be seen in the fall many times in corn and bean fields, the futher south the more the herds of deer. September and October near the Ohio and W.Va line not at all a un-common sight with fifty or more deer feeding in a field.

With CWD in the area, both WV and Virginia added laws controlling (VA) or forbidding (WV) baiting.

Nice photo.

I wonder if you could take two in one shot? That's my dream. It would just take perfect conditions that I have yet to find. The situation pictured might make it possible.

Prime example of what happens with more "no hunting" signs, and more guys hanging up the bow....a tragedy, really.

That is crazy...you know the poor lads must be hungry to come out looking for a few piles of corn like that....

Keep thinning them out boys...we need to do our part...humanely! No need in starving to death....
