bolt selection

I am considering a hunt for wild boar. Are the gold tip lazer 2 bolts strong enough, or should I purchase some aluminum bolts?

I'm sure they will work fine. I've never broken any of my gold tip Laser II . Most of the bolt problem we have is finding it after the pass through.
Now my older brother uses 2219 bolts and he only bent 4 this year .
Two of those are when he had to walk up to the deer and shot it again after a spine shot.

I've used both Gold tips and Beeman thunderbolts , worked great on a lot of hogs. but have broke a few on pass throughs hitting rocks. Aluminum would not hold up any better in the conditions that I shoot. A hog will bend them just flexing if you don't get a pass through.

Hogs are tough critters as you know. I have never hunted them but if I did I'd use aluminium bolts. I'd be concerned about the carbon bolt splintering inside the animal and ingesting a shard of the carbon.

My 2 cents.
