I plan on using wasp jakhammers . I`ve had this combo for a couple of years but they seem to stay out of reach of the bow . But when they make the same mistake a day to later I`m normally got a angry swarm of #5`s going his way .I guess you could say I have no patience but when you carry the bow they always seem to stay at shotgun range .

And I saw 9 gobblers in a bunch this morning while checking my beaver snares.............. seems like it might be best for the health of the flock to remove a couple this spring!

Saxman,

I shoot the same gun with Winchester Supreme HV 3" #5's. The gun kicks like a mule though. I had a red dot on mine also, I really liked it, just put the dot on it and pull the trigger.

Another who chases gobblers with the xbow. I took 2 last year and took a nice limb that ran in just as I shot. Shotgun is just too easy.

I use my 870, 2oz #5s, super-full straight-rifled choke. Lot's of fun patterning. The recoil is such that the gun damn near ejects the shells for me  .

Maybe the Exocet will be in the field this spring. First bird will be with the shotgun though.

Nice shotgun Sax, I'm thinking about one of those, along with a rifled barrel.

What red-dot is that?

Wow, Sax ... a dedicated turkey gun! You've been bitten badly, buddy. The old gobbler bug's got you good. Time for you to get the gobbler now!

I must warn you: turkey hunting is a disease; a spring fever of the most heated variety. Your symptoms will show up soon enough. I come down with it every year myself.

I'm still shooting them with the same old unadorned Walmart Winchester pump, though. I think I'll tell my wife that Saxman said I should have a specific gun just for turkeys!

Thanks, Sax!

Tye.They dont make a rifled barrel for that model,at least the last time I checked,I think the do for the 500.

The sight is from Bass Pro Shop. $99.00 multi reticle. 1x I think.

GRIZZ: You are right my friend,I have the fever, very humbling to be bested by a bird with a brain the size of a peanut.I'm sick with it.
And you can blame the new purchase on me.A new house warrents a new gun and scope.
