Anyone have any ideas for a rack to hold a xbow on a 4 wheeler ?

Sure do! Do you have a trailer hitch? If so, what size?

HMMMMM , guess the joke was on me . Xbows are a bit large to carry on a 4 wheeler.

Your question is very valid. I had made a rack for my vertical bow on the front of my Cat. It consisted of a set of gun 'U' shape holders and a frame I welded mounted to the front which protected the limbs.
The other day I grabbed my Equinox and started playing with it on the front rack and by pure luck found that if I set it across the gun rack by sitting the stock in the holders, it is well protected and very stable. There is only one limb sticking out front which is not a factor.
I'll post some pics soon.

cheers

tuskntine, I'll get some pics to you Monday when I'm off work. I have serious reservations on the crossbow rack shown on the link. This rack puts the bow very high above the ATV and really unprotected. My experience hunting with a bow on my ATV, I end up going places that have very narrow trails and branches/limbs not very high above the quad itself. This is why I prefer to mount my bow low on the front of the atv, also within the wheelbase. This minimizes any chance that a tree/branch reaches out and grabs the bow.
My 2 cents

Tuskntine, I took my atv to a local fabrication shop and he's building an xbow rack for me. I post some pics when it's done. He said around Wed of this week. The one that I found last night doesn't look to sturdy but it was the only one that I could find. Just trying to give you some options. YOU will have to decide what to get based on type terrain that you encounter.

Thanks Andre and Ray , that will help lots. I checked the link you gave me Ray and I agree , it does sit quit high. Also sounds like Andre is on to something with mounting the xbow flat . Who knows , maybe you guys will come up with something that will make you some bucks. I am sure we aren't the only ones with the same situation.

Looking forward to seeing Ray's rack. All I use to mount the crossbow are two ATV rifle mounts. The branch defelctor is the original I had made for my compound bow.

the front bow protector I had designed for my Hoyt which sat behind the rectangle guard. Now most of the crossbow is protected except for the right limb but the front of the atv protects it mostly. we tend to hunt in some wooded areas which have lots of small saplings and branches at all levels so the guard does a great job protecting the bow. Bushwacking is the mission; boldly go where most will never venture!

Check out Buddy's. Moxie also made a two bow holder. I think he visits here once in a while. Nice rack Andre!
