Slick Tricks

Post by wn »

I am going to bite the bullet ans purchase some Slick Tricks for the upcoming season. What does everyone use the Standard or the Magnum. Will the 1/8 inch difference matter that much. I like the bigger diameter. I am shooting 100gr Thunderheads and they fly OK, but I want something that shoots a little better. I shoot an ecocet 200.

I picked up the 100 grain magnums.

To the forum though,

With my new phoenix, 20 yards was bang on but when sterted sighting at 30 yards had flyers out 3-4 inches to the left and right.

Any thouhts on my dilema?

Tried a 30 grain wasp camlock and the problem corrected.

Currently using the Excaliber aluminum bolts with the package.

I would try spin testing the bolts . If the inserts are not in 100 % square it will / could cause your bolts to fly off target. Spin the bolts with your broadheads installed . Watch to see if the tip runs true .

Fletching size can also cause some trouble. You may need bigger fletching .

Thanks for reply Farmer....

I took a closer look at the broadheads and noticed the blades were not quite aligned right.

Fixed the problem and after shooting were bang on at 20 / 30 yds.

Tried the Gold Tips as well. Started with a practice head and then tried the Slick Tricks.

No difference on point of impact.

Think I'm going to stay with the Gold Tips.

The Slick Tricks are a mean looking broadhead.

both fly the same so you might as well opt for the extra 1/8th inch 8)
