I was wondering the same, I thought about some plumbing tubing from Lowe's. Not sure how small you can get it.

It's like 0.12 cents a foot at my local ACE hardware store, I would assume yours has it to.

W/ an Emax, I use rope cocker to use string changer. Both up and down. Since the plastic tube doesn't match hooks on rope cocker, I just slide it outta the way off to one side or the other. In ALOT of doing this, I can't see any wear on changer string/rope.

I threw it on my serving jig and served it with some string I had laying on a rack in the garage. Not sure how long it will last, but, I'll bet it lasts longer than the plastic tubing. The set-up with the plastic tubing is just a joke. I used it a time or two without any tubing . . .I just wasn't comfortable with that thin string holding my limbs back . . .I was afraid it would slip between the claws. Anyway . . .here is a picture . . .

Image

As you can see, I didn't even bother taking the broken tubing off.

Sumner4991 , I hope the guys at Excalibur pay attention . I think you have hit on THE improvement of the YEAR. You should market it , or at least get royalties from it . Quick , send in a drawing and apply for a patient.

Scott, great idea! I'm going to do the same thing. Too bad some of the others don't have a jig or the ability to serve. What are you going to charge for serving stringing aids? LOL!

Thanks guys . . .glad you like it.

Boo . . .see there, the serving lessons you gave me are paying you dividends!

Forget the patents . . .I've been down that road. Unless you have something that is truly unique in design, you will not get a patent. In this case, I have merely make a larger serving . . .no different, just larger.

Being first to market is the trick . . .and having the $$$$ to take it to market, another trick.

I'm a newby so I'm not sure if I should be doing this or not but I use my crankaroo to pull back the stringer and hold it instead of the trigger.

That is a good idea! If anybody needs a piece of replacement tubing just email or PM me and I will send you one. That tubing should last a while, we must use our stinging aids hundreds of times during the tradeshow season and I have not had one break in half yet.

:D As far as I know, my Excalibur stringer never had no stinking tubing on it, just good heavy rope and white square pieces on each end to loop over limbs. Cock with cocking rope, do what ever you want with bow strings. :D
