A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

I'm retired so I'll be out on Monday. I wonder what the dry summer and early agricultural harvest will do to the deer patterns?

No corn on the fields in November could make things kind of weird.

Will try to get out in the evening after husband is off work (unless he wants to go hunting that evening instead! ) With one of us having to stay home with our toddler we'll be taking turns. Either way, we'll be getting out sometime that first week! :D

I'll be out FORSURE - I took a doe last year on opening day @ exactly 5:30 pm - so I will be trying to do the same this year. I'm not liking the weather though it seem's a little to warm.
I'll be in my stand in WEST LORNE @ 5:30 am waiting for somethin to walk by -hopefully it's brown around 175lb's or more and antler's are optional.

I will be in Michigan; where the deer are over abundant!

It is hard to decide which doe comes home first, likely an experienced one .

Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!

I have October booked off, and if that doesn't do it I will take November too. :D
I have everything I need for a successful hunt, well, besides experience.

Some a__hole behind a desk in the Ministry decided the extra tags fro the controlled hunt in December should go on sale Oct. 1, so I will be standing in line at the local office to get a tag. Not only that but we can't even dial in to find out if we've been selected in the draw for the controlled hunt until Oct. 1. I'm not sure what time it becomes available. Not exactly a bunch of rocket scientists running MNR.
