9pt Down: First Excal Deer

Hello everyone,
This is my first deer taken with an Excal (Vortex). I had only hunted this stand site once prior to harvesting him. The first time I put out a Renzo decoy buck and he came in and snorted at the decoy for 20 minutes...never could get a shot. This past Sunday evening (a week later) I got into the woods and put out VS1 Doe Esterous before climbing into the stand. This time I did not use the decoy and he came in at 5pm right to the VS1...I shot him through both lungs. My father and I decided not to track him that evening. Therefore, I had to work on Monday and my father went the following morning to recover him for me. The pic is of my father with the deer I harvested.

Nice deer Jack. I just returned from a business trip to Pine Bluff. Beautiful country down there. Good luck the rest of the season.
