Results from wild pig shot placement question

Post by mchurch »

Dudes, I wanted to say thanks for those that helped with the best place to shoot a wild hog question. Check out the results. This was the fist time my brother had ever hunted anything let alone with a crossbow. He did well, and didn't let buck fever make him miss. Initially I was unsure of how things would go. After this he was wanting to shoot a second one and was talking about our next trip. He hit the hog kinda high at roughly 25 yards broadside. My equinox sent the wasp boss tipped firebolt clean through fatser than I could blink. He knew to look for the elbow and go straight up on a broad side shot thanks to a post in this forum. Unfortunately the guide had to shoot the pig to be completely sure we would recover him. It was an awesome trip and we got tons of good meat. For those curious I have a lumizone scope, groundpounder mount and cheek pad in the pick. I only observed this time. I hope next time this is me. Thanks excalibur for a fantastic crossbow.

Congratulations! Thats a great looking hog. And it takes a great shot placement to bring one down like that.
