She brought an Equinox for me  Very nice present, I actually got it in November. She gave it early so I could use it this year.

Thanks to the kindness of my church members and family I got to watch my kids open gifts that I would not have been able to provide for them this year so that was my gift.

God is good, can I get an AMEN?

Well certainly Saxman, AMEN.

I told my family not to buy anything related to hunting for me at Christmas. Its usually something that isn't to my liking, I'm a little anal with my equip. This year they got me a $200.00 gift cert. to a local hunting store.

Otherwise, a pair of wool socks, 2 warm long sleeved shirts, a battery tender for batteries on my Quads, and we all shared a 3 month family membership to a fitness center.

But first we celebrated the birth of Jesus, a nice meal, then the gifts as a bonus.

In our families the adults don't exchange gifts anymore. Still, my mother-in-law wanted to pass on something special that was her own so each of the girls in the family received a china cup and saucer set which will remind us of her every time we use it. My own mother gave each of us "kids" a very special letter with some of her thoughts & feelings about Dad and his passing. It was a different Christmas this year without Dad - he was very much missed!

Many years ago (over 40!) Dad had made me a Christmas present: a sled in the European style. My brothers and I have many happy memories of wild rides down hills on this sled - sometimes Dad would tie it behind the car and tow it up and down the alley behind our house - often sparks would fly from under the runners making it all the more exciting for us kids. This year I passed that sled on to my son. Pulling him around the neighbourhood on that sled was one of the highlights of my Christmas season. Looking at this photo I feel like the luckiest person in the world!

WOW!!! VixChix, your son looks just like you. I love kids that age, I sure miss my boys when they were in their toddlers years.

Ten more years and he'll be a hunter.
