Got a new Companion

Post by Golden Eagle »

Been wanting to get a Sidearm for a while now. Had a Blackhawk years ago in 357 but sold it to a friend during a weak moment.

So I went out and picked up a Single Six for plinking now that ammo is so high.

It will go with me when the Dogs and I take our weekend walks in the woods. 22/22Mag Convertible.

I had one that was chambered in 32 H&R mag. It was a good little shooter.

You'll love it!! I have one with rosewood grips I bought new in 1973. Paid $69.50. Bet it costs 5 times that now. The 22 mag has surprising power and will make a BIG hole in what ever it hits. Enjoy!

Thats a beauty.
I had a pistol once.Ruger P-89-DC 9mm.
I took it to a gun show on friday to trade up to the 45acp but couldn't get the trade I wanted so I waited untill the last day thinking the guy might be more willing to trade.I stopped by a friends house and when I came out my truck window was broken and my gun and 4 of a friends were gone.

Looks like a fun piece. Don't be surprised if the 22 is less accurate than the mag. They are different calibers: 22 is .222 diameter while a WMR is actually a .224 diameter. So the bore is reamed to fit the faster, larger bullet. Mine was was accurate enough for knocking around but the difference was noticeable.

Guilty as charged.

I put 50 rounds through mine the day before yesterday ... killed all sorts of outlaws, attacking indians, rougue bears, and varmints (in my mind). :D

I want a Marlin 39A to go with mine.

I often wonder: Where were these toys when we were growing up? :?

One bit of advice. If you shoot the .22mag cylinder - wear ear protection!
I had one years ago and went hunting with the .22mag. One cylinder full over a few hours and I was at the doctor getting my ears examined/tested the next day!

You can't remove the handgun from your property where the gun resides without permission to transport. If you live in the city and want to take it to your cottage to practice then you have to get authorisation to transport.

You can use it all you want but transporting it is restricted.

I have a Ruger semi-auto scoped .22 pistol (Mark II). I also have a scoped Contender Super 14 pistol (30-30).

I wouldn't have much use for any hand gun that I couldn't hunt with.
I know what you mean bstout. The Hunting part I mean. And the Ruger Mark II's,III's and IV' are real popular around here too. And the Brownimg Buckmarks also.
