I have a Nikon 440 Just got it last year and it works great for my uses (mainly just for archery)
Have not had any problems picking up ranges in snow or rain, have not used it for anything out past 100 yards - perfect for my needs.
Life goes by quick - so don't think about going hunting - get out there and DO IT!

I picked up a camo Leupold RX-II prior to last season. I really like it. The true range function is nice. You may want to check on eBay if you are looking for a deal. They routinely sell new ones on there that sell for under $225.

The 8X is way too much for archery.

I have a VERY difficult time finding what I want to range in viewfinder.

200 yards? No problem. Raning a leaf at 30 yards? Big problem.

I recommend the The Bushnell Yardage Pro.
I almost got the nikon 440 too but realized the 8x was too much for archery. i looked into the Nikon 600 which is 6x but cost more money. i found out that Nikon makes one for golfers called the Nikon 500G which has the exact same specs as the Nikon 600. Only difference is the 500G side plates is brushed aluminum so I put some camo tape over it. i paid 160.00 NIB off ebay

I have had the Bushnell Sport 450 for 4 years. It works very well and I have no complaints. I carry it rain or shine taking care to keeping it under cover and dry. Have had no problems.
Recommend it.
