Hi guys,
I'm not sure if I screwed up. I am currently running the firebolts in my equinox. I just ordered from the superstore some GT lazer II's no fletching. I'm going to be putting some 2" blazers on myself.
Unless I missed the boat, it looks as though the firebolts are heavier? I've been reading that they're 10.5 grs/inch and the GT lazers say 8.6grs/inch.
Is this right? Will this now be too light. I hope I'm wrong, I wanted heavier not lighter.
I also wanted to try the 145gr phat heads but they don't sell those at the superstore so I settled on the 100's.
Do you guys know of a place where I can order heavier inserts?
thanks again,
GT lazer II or firebolt

If you ordered from the Bowhunters Superstore then you will recieve both brass and aluminum front inserts (loose) with your bare shaft order.
No worries then. Your choice.

Yes,
I believe the aluminum insert for the GTII is about 32-35 gr. or so. The brass is about 90 gr. Playing with insert weights by adding or subtracting weight will customize your FOC.
For example I have added 20, 25 or 30 grain add ons to the GTII front alumninum insert. Also, I have cut the brass ones down from 90 to 70 grains.

Gold Tip Lazer II
Just some input from a Crossbow newcomer. I shot at indoor range
with Phoenix using GT lazer II 20" 125 gr field tips. We weighed eight
bolts 320 to 313 grains ......speed was 284 fps + - Sighted in 3" high
at 20 yards. Should be on at 30 yards. Will use it to hunt Hogs/Deer
this fall. Can't see much over 20 yds in woods in Louisiana.
Really enjoying shooting again.....injured myself with Hoyt Durado
recurve, bought crossbow so I can hunt with my Son this fall.
