patching a hole in an aluminum pot?

Post by Pydpiper »

Just realized my turkey deep fryer has a tiny hole, well, had a tiny hole. I had to drive a self tapping screw through the hole to keep it from leaking this weekend.
Is there a way to patch aluminum?

Find a good welder. I had a crack in an old aluminum boat and was able to find a great welder through a friend of mine and patched the hole. It hasn't leaked in five years. As far as the pot goes, probably less expensive to buy a new one.

Sounds like you know what you are doing. I'm just a novice but my welds look pretty good.
