PEAMEAL BACK BACON
How about it?
Do any of you Canucks eat this?
http://peamealbackbacon.com/
The net gives me the impression it's very popular.
Thinking about ordering some. I have an adventurous palate.
Give me your experiences & impressions!
Thanks!

Grizz,
This is loin, not your usual pork-belly style bacon. There's very little visible fat on it. More like a boneless pork chop in appearance, but cured, sliced and full of flavour. The peameal is a nice touch but not essential as it is sometimes sold without. If you buy it uncut in a roast size, it can be a Sunday dinner. But be careful, like anything else, too much can be worse than not enough.

We need all that fat to fight off the cold Grizz. You burn up a lot of calories at -30'.
Actually, poutine is the pride and joy of Quebec, which boasts it's invention, (although it sounds a lot like fries all dressed to me). It's probably better for you than their other favourite meal, a Pepsi and a Joe Louis (substitute 'Twinkie' for y'all down south).
Peameal bacon however stands in a leagues of it's own.

It's better than grits! No ketchup for me. Hey we use vinegar on our fries! Annnnd we drink real beer.

Some people just like stepping on rakes
Beach sand is better fare than grits. Vinegar has lots of applications, if you want to split hairs.Boo wrote:It's better than grits! No ketchup for me. Hey we use vinegar on our fries! Annnnd we drink real beer.

Peameal bacon is the BEST !! A friend of mine makes his own ----it is great. If you have never tried peameal bacon you are in for a treat .
This may sound a little weird but my wife just made some peameal last night ; in the oven . She cooks it like a ham or roast . Great for supper with mashed pomme de terre , home made biscuits and a veggie .
