Acorn Rage & Cmere Deer

Post by afd34744 »

Advise needed.
I hunt 43 acres of hardwood that boarders a 51 acre farm which is planted in corn this year. I usually put out corn near two of my stands and the deer tear it up. I decided to try Acorn Rage & Cmere Deer this year as well. I layed out the Acorn Rage as instructed and the deer never touched it. Two weeks later I tried Cmere Deer with the same results. Anyone else have luck with either one of these products?
I think I'm going to save some money and stick with corn.

deer feed

Post by hawg hunter »

My preference as far as deer feed is a combination of corn and soy beans. Another is alfafa hay and for us Southern boys peanut hay. Drop 1 round bale of peanut hay in the pasture and you'll have every deer hog and quail hangin around.

Pretty hard to compete with an entire cornfield close by, that deer have been visiting since the corn sprouted.

the stuff works on Tv because those deer are probably pen fed the stuff so they are use to it. If you put that crap out here all it does it spook them :D

For now hunt the corn field once its harvested try feeding ear corn you can usally buy it from a local farmer at a resonable price.Dump a pile on the ground when the snow flies then get in your stand early because they'll come running.Ear corn holds a deers attention longer than shelled tis harder for the turkeys to eat and its harder for the deer to eat because they have to work harder to get a belly full. This is a good thing they'll be there longer.

Is there any point to feeding corn now? Most of the corn is still standing in S. ONT. They're on the corn so I'm not sure if it's worth the expense.

If you're not part of the solution, you might be part of the problem.

The deer LOVE C'Mere Deer where I hunt in Central Ontario. I use the powder and it seems to work better than the liquid. We put some out Saturday afternoon and it was gone in less than 24 hours.
We also put out some corn (kernel) and they devoured it too. Tried some sweet feed and they ate everything else first.
We've also had good success with apples and, in places, carrots. Sometimes it's hard to get them started on the carrots, but once they do it's like a magnet.
