I’m hunting both pieces of property. 700 acres in all.
I’ve spotted numerous very good bucks in the 140 to the “Booner” range.
What is interesting is the “white deer” genetics in this area. These are not albino, but white deer with black noses, brown eye and black hooves. There are 3 white deer here. Two are all white (protected in Illinois) and one has some brown on her (legal). There has to be at least 8 - 10 piebalds that I have seen. No telling how many more are out there. Only one of the piebalds that I have seen is a buck and he is a yearling.
The piebalds are various hues and patterns.
This little gal and her sister came out last evening on the bean field I was hunting next to. I snapped these pictures at about 100 yards with an Olympus 10X Optical zoom. I then cropped them. That lost some quality, but I think you can see what she looks like.
I bumped into these two on my walk out the other morning. I froze and they just stared at me. The piebald fawn then walked back to take a look at me. She got within 25 yards and just stared. Since a friend of mine was waiting for me at my truck I finally waved at her to run here. Even then she just trotted off.

They are really neat to watch. I would shoot one if it was a fully mature deer.
I’ve hit it hard here the last week and came close to some good ones on a coupe, of occasions. Friday through Sunday is their first gun season and I will be there. Shame on them if they get within 125 yards of me.
