First crossbow deer

Post by DMc »

Sorry no pics, guys/gals. But thought I would report anyway.

This is the first deer I have killed with an arrow in, I can't remember how long. It was a very satisfying feeling.

This was with my Exocet 200, with Crazyfarmers Cowwackers and Rage 3 blades. From a ground blind set up in the back of my property. A white tail doe came in, stopped about 25 yds away, slightly quartering towards me. Arrow went through both lungs, clean pass through, but high. No blood trail but she only traveled about 35 yds and I saw her drop. Arrow was recovered 10 yds from where she was shot. Performed flawlessly. Excellent entry and exit wound; all blades opened. No damage or bent blades; reuseable.

Cowwacker cleaned right up; shiny bright yellow and as good as new. This was just so much more rewarding than using a rifle. Plus it was actually a shot I could not have taken with a rifle due to proximity of horses and livestock.

I am really thrilled with the crossbow. And I want to thank you all for the information made so readily available on this site.

Congrats. I have also been very satisfied with the Rage 3. In my case I have noticed significant blood trails with the 4 deer I have taken with them.
