shew, season is blowing by

Post by crazyfarmer »

seems just as soon as it got here, its about gone already... we have roughly another month of hunting left here. After that depression sets in for 9months :D

In a way ill be glad when its gone since I can spend more time with the family LOL. After dogs hit the woods things get really slow if you still hunt. I love hunting with dogs, but chances of a good buck making it to you before someone else gets a crack at him are slim. But soon shed hunting starts, preseason scouting, turkey season, and so on so it never ends  8)

We have until Feb.1 this year.
The rest of this week for guns (Dec. 1-7), then another weekend for guns Dec. 20-21), then 4 days of muzzleloader (Dec. 27-30), then back to archery (Sept. 27-Feb.1).
Then a break until spring turkey opens in mid-April.

But they have a rainbow trout release in the local lake in early March, so that gives us a way to spend time outdoors that month.

One Word!

Coyotes

Season is never closed.

There are no hours.

And they really need to move a lot in February and March.

Archery season opens from Oct 1 and runs though Feb. 15. Rifle opens Mid. Nov. and closes mid Jan. The rut usually doesn't start to around Dec. in one area and the other area I hunt usually the rut is as late as Jan. I have seen bucks chasing does in Feb. during their second rut.
* We hunt the hogs till around May and shut it down because of the heat down here.
