Wind Demons

Post by hunter 740 »

Went out tonight and the wind was perfect, just a breeze not the howling wind that has plauged so many of us this year. Then at deer thirty it shifted from a southeast breeze to west southwest which is totally wrong for the spot I was hunting. The wind finally died down at the edge of dark and the deer were coming of the top of the hill from the east. The deer seperated and a yearling went north which was behind me since I was facing the southeast. The two that were with it were approaching as I had planned. The deer to the north circled back south and crossed where I had entered the woods,it did'nt really spook but rather stood there scenting my tracks putting the other two on alert. Then the demons struck, the breeze picked up[from the wrong direction] and the two that were coming to me got a big whiff and they were off snorting until they were out of hearing range. The first deer I had seen in three weeks and the demons got me again but I won't give up until the excal demon strikes gold.
