Don, the group you mention is conspicuous by their absence! LOL!
I still haven't yet either. No time, no luck, no memory!

Still waiting for that buck. Had a great season in the woods and learned a ton. Made lots of mistakes that I won't make again. Looking forward to next year, and getting out scouting during the off season. I am going to do some small game hunting over the winter.

Still a crossbow virgin, but not concerned about it.
Take it easy.

Well me too,I've had my Exocet for 4yrs and still I'm still the virgin(when it comes to taking a deer with the bow)although my bow has taken 2 deer,my 15yr old son took his first deer with it 2yrs ago and this year as I was 20ft up the tree waiting for my buddy to tie on my bow and pass it up a spike buck walked in behind us at 15yds so he cocked it and let the deer have it.I climbed back down and the hunt was over before we started.Maybe/Definitely next year.

My phoenix, although it has killed deer, has not spoken so far this season.

And if it does not bark today, tomorrow or Friday it will remain silent until the 2ed. of January. Gun season comes back in for a short two days this weekend. Then it is Christmas week with the kids and grandkids. Black powder starts right after Christmas for a few days and takes us into the new year when it is archery only for the entire month.

January in Ohio is like a totally different season. All the wildlife rules change. Food is king. Most of the hunters are no longer around having taken what they want or given up. It is a great time to hunt with a crossbow. The woods are yours alone and you are the major predator.

Maybe the phoenix will lose her virginity during this cold and desolate month.

What are you shooting in those pics??

It took me a few seasons before I managed to get a deer with the Exocet, but have had a pretty good streak since getting the first. I've learned a ton since I started bow hunting.

Mikej is correct my first bow was a loaned Horton Supermag....She's still hanging in my basement~! It was not long after that pic was taken that I met R.J. and Mikey V aka Red Label (god rest his soul) and my education began as well as my investment into the Excal family and the wonderful forum family......2002 I beleive~!
